On a related note, when I stopped into my local Barnes & Noble for a copy of the book mentioned in this column, it was sold out. In the process of ordering a copy, my conversation with the B&N employee went from cocktails to H.P. Lovecraft. Without my prompting (though the Nyarlathotep shirt may have helped direct it).
